I've posted about The Mailbox many times because of their clever ideas.Here is one that I think will work in reminding students and parents what is needed:
The next time a child needs to replenish a school supply or you’re requesting that students contribute to a class project, try this! Have each child write a short note to his parent(s) on the outside of a folded paper sack that, when unfolded, can be used to carry the needed supply to school! These unique requests really deliver!
